Giorgia Brusemini was born in Badia Polesine in 1979 and studied Industrial design at ISIA in Florence. She moves to Milano where she begins collaborating with the architect Franco Raggi. 2006 is the beginning of her journey to the island of Murano where she studies glass blowing history and techniques and, for a period of three year, she is the research and product development advisor for Barovier & Toso. This is the time when her first products are realized, lamps and chandeliers that are a combination of the antique and precious historical manufacturing techniques typical of Murano and the contemporary design. She is a designer for Bysteel, a company in Forlì famous for his outdoor forniture. For the LED Festival 2009/2010 she realizes with the company Ora Elettrica a light installation named “L’orologio di Milano fa tic tac! Qual è il tuo tempo?” (“The clock of Milan makes tic tac! What is your time?”), an intervention on the public clocks of the city.
As a creative advisor she cooperates with many realities of the “food” business. She was also the advisor for Design Library, the first Italian library totally dedicated to design, where she dedicated herself to the development of the new projects and the organization of meetings/stages with the emerging young designers. She is an assistant professor at NABA. She founded ABCD STUDIO with Karim Contarino.
“Since 2010 she walks on the land of design with her own strength, with a good balance between concrete and abstract, between matter and mind, between the project of things and the one of situations” Virginio Briatore
